Research
The Infant & Toddler Development Project, under the guidance of Dr. Jeffrey Lockman, studies human development from infancy to early childhood. Current topics include how infants and children play with objects, how they manipulate their movement as they gain control of their arms and hands, how they learn about their own bodies, and handwriting. Current methodologies include eye-tracking, motion capture, and behavioral analyses. We also collaborate with researchers at other institutions and in other fields, such as humanoid robotics.
Our researchers often present at national and international conferences and attend events in the greater New Orleans Area.
